About Anitra Boyt
Anitra Handley-Boyt started her art education as a toddler accompanying her mother to her art classes at American University and George Washington University and studio work at the Smithsonian. She was provided a stool and an easel next to her mom or a seat and clay depending on the class. Anitra worked primarily in pen and ink and pencil on paper for many years. In 1997 Anitra began painting in oils and completed her first painting, Fireflower instead of studying for The Bar Exam. In 1999 Anitra moved to New York and attended several hundred shows to educate herself on pricing and presentation. Since Anitra began her career as an artist in 1997, she has had many lucrative sales; she has been published in the New York Times (August 2000 - group show Chelsea - Limner Gallery.) Anitra has had exhibits in many galleries on the east coast. She has participated in several art fairs and has sold many paintings as well as giclee on canvas reproductions and lithograph prints of her original images. Her artwork is not only all over the US but, also in China, Norway, Isreal, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Mexico and many other countries. She is continuously building her brand and has been devoted to painting and selling.
